Brantford Galaxy at the foot of the standings, held York Region Shooters, winners of the First Division, to a 2-2 draw, while Serbian White Eagles scored late to come away with a 1-1 tie against FC Ukraine United, two games in the CSL First Division Sunday.
Midfielder Bojan Stepanovic opened the scoring at the 16 minutes for the visiting Brantford Galaxy against York Region Shooters at the St.Joan of Arc Stadium and Aleksander Stojanovski tied the game 1-1 for York Region at the 24th minute mark.
Stepanovic scored a second goal for the Galaxy at 31 minutes, a free kick that found the net past York Region goalkeeper Adrian Ibanez and it was 2-1 at the interval. It was Stepanovic’s fourth goal of the season.
Stojanovski scored his second goal of the game and seventh on the season at 71 minutes to tie the game 2-2 and the score held to the final whistle.
York Region Shooters now have a record of 13-2-3 for 42 points, having secured the First Division title on September 18, while Brantford Galaxy now have a 2-8-8 record for 14 points and are at the foot of the table.
Sergii Ivliev opened the scoring for FC Ukraine United at 26 minutes, his 12th goal of the season for a 1-0 score at the interval.
Milos Scepanovic tied the game 1-1 for Serbian White Eagles at 80 minutes, the score at the final whistle.
Serbian White Eagles improve to a 8-7-3- record for 27 points and are tied with Toronto Atomic for third position in the standings, while Ukraine United are at 7-6-5 for 26 points, fifth in the table.
There was one game in the CSL Second Division, SC Waterloo defeating Toronto Atomic FC B by a score of 6-2.
