BRAMPTON vs NIAGARA SURROUNDED BY WEEKEND MULTICULTURAL FESTIVITIES…….Closing of Centennial Stadium disrupts two games

There will be no games at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke this coming weekend following damage to the field surface caused by flooding during the storm of last Monday. This means a postponement of the Serbian White Eagles vs Toronto Croatia clash set for Friday night and will now be re-scheduled for a later date.

The Toronto Croatia vs. Astros Vasas FC game due to be played at Centennial Stadium on Sunday, has been rescheduled and will now be played at Lamport Stadium on Saturday.

Not far from Centennial Stadium there are festivities in Brampton this weekend where Carabram is all the rage. It’s Brampton’s Multicultural Festival and Brampton City Utd are part of the celebrations with their home game against Niagara United at the Terry Fox Stadium in Chinguacousy Park on Sunday.

Brampton has announced free admission as part of the festivities while they bid to still be a serious contender for the CSL First Division title. Sunday’s game will kickoff at 5.30 pm and will be preceded by a CSL Second
Division encounter between the reserve teams of these two clubs at 3pm.

It’s the half-way point of the 2013 season and Kingston FC have demonstrated they are a serious contender for top honours this year. The eastern Ontario side
goes into this weekend with seven wins from their 10 games played and head coach Colm Muldoon vows to keep the momentum going. Speaking of Windsor Stars, Sunday’s opposition, Muldoon referred to Kingston’s  2-1 victory over the border side on June 9, saying in a club press release this week:
“They gave us a tight game, ended up 2-1 but we came through with our fitness and drive – should’ve scored more goals,” he said. “But they fought hard, and rumour has it they’ve improved since.”

There is one televised game this weekend with the showing on tape of the Serbian White Eagles vs Astros Vasas FC game of July 7. The game will be aired on Rogers TV on Sunday, July 14 at 8 pm. Check local schedule for time in your area.
