HAMILTON, SCARBOROUGH PLAY TO 2-2 TIE…..It’s Milton 1, Brantford 1 Friday

 

Astros win 4-0 - extend unbeaten streak to seven Saturday night

Two goals by Hamilton City striker Zdenko Jurcevic gave his side a 2-2 tie with Scarborough SC, while in one other game played in the Canadian Soccer League Friday night, Milton SC were held to a 1-1 result by visiting Brantford Galaxy.

Jurcevic scored in each half at the Cardinal Newman ground, his fifth and sixth goals of the season, while Tihomir Kosturkov scored for Scarborough in the first half and Mirza Colic was the goalscorer for Scarborough at 73 minutes of the second half.  It was 1-1 at the interval.

Scarborough take sole possession of second place in the CSL First Division standings with a 7-5-3 WLT record for 24 points, now 11 points behind league-leading York Region Shooters, while Hamilton has a  6-7-4 record for 22 points and are fourth in the standings, tied on points with Toronto Atomic FC.

Forward Adnan Smajic opened the scoring for Milton at 54 minutes at the Jean Vanier ground and it was 1-0 at the break. Haris Redzepi tied the game for Brantford at 76 minutes, a 1-1 tie at the final whistle.

Brantford Galaxy are in 7 position in the standings with a 2-7-6 record for 12 points, while Milton remain at the foot of the standings with a 3-9-2 record for 11 points.
