MONTREAL IMPACT ACADEMY JUMP FOUR POINTS AHEAD

Montreal Impact Academy went four points ahead at the top of the First Division standings with a 3-0 victory over Serbian White Eagles at the Saputo Stadium in Montreal Saturday.

 

Academy midfielder Chris-Michel Rumuri opened the scoring with a goal at the 16th minute mark for a 1-0 lead at the interval and Michelot Hyacinthe made it 2-0 at 47 minutes.

 

Serbian Eagles fought to get back into the game during the second half but gave up a penalty kick at 80 minutes for Felix Cardin to find the net past Eagles’ goalkeeper Milos Djurkovic. The 3-0 score held to the final whistle.

 

Montreal jumps four points ahead of York Region Shooters with 26 points, close behind are SC Toronto and Capital City FC, each with 25 points. SC Toronto has five games in hand over Montreal and four games in hand over York Region Shooters.
