Midfielder Brennan McNicoll scored twice for TFC Academy, he opened the scoring at the 18^th minute mark, but North York struck an equalizer from Erik Grigore at 37 minutes for a 1-1 score at the interval. It’s Grigore’s fifth goal of the season.

 

McNicoll’s second goal was a winning one, a low drive from 30 yards at the 83^rd minute mark that left Astros’ goalkeeper Nelson Zamora little chance when it entered the corner of the net.

 

TFC have improved to a 6-3-2 WLT record for 20 points and a rapid rise up the table to take over second position, just two points behind league-leading York Region Shooters. North York are now at 4-4-2 for 14 points.

 

Anthony Jackson-Hamel led Montreal Impact Academy with two goals in their 3-0 victory over visiting London City at the Saputo Stadium. He struck both in a span of five minutes late in the second half.

 

It was forward Peter Byers, who was called up from the Impact senior team, who opened the scoring. He collected a cross to drive the ball past London goalkeeper Scott Mueller into the top corner of the net at the 21^st minute.

 

Jackson-Hamel’s goals came at 77 and 82 minutes for a 3-0 final score. Referee Mathieu Bourdeax dismissed London City’s Stuart Wright at the 80^th minute for Serious Foul Play.

 

Montreal Impact Academy lift their record to 3-5-4 for 13 points as a result of the win, while London City are at 1-5-2 for five points.

 

There are no games in the CSL Sunday, with the next scheduled game set for next Wednesday at Club Roma in St. Catharines when the Wolves host Brampton Lions at 8 pm.
