Following a close and even first half which was scoreless at the interval, forward Judah Hernandez scored the all-important goal for Brampton at 66 minutes when he took a pass from Daniel Nascimento to cut in from the wing and score with a left foot drive that beat Montreal goalkeeper Maxime Carle at the near post.

 

Montreal fought to get on even terms and came close to scoring in an attempt that caused Brampton goalkeeper Roy Blanche from being shown a red card for a foul ‘denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity’.

 

The game ended 1-0 and with the victory Brampton Lions step up one position in their efforts to reach a top eight position in the standings and qualify for a playoff spot.

 

There was one other game scheduled for Saturday, the TFC Academy vs. Brantford Galaxy  encounter was postponed at Brockton Stadium due to wet conditions on the surface.
