SC TORONTO 2-0 VICTORY OVER ST. CATHARINES WEDNESDAY

A goal in each half gave SC Toronto a 2-0 victory over St. Catharines Wolves at Club Roma, St. Catharines, the only game played in the CSL Wednesday.


 


SC Toronto defender Branko Majstorovic opened the scoring for the visitors at 44 minutes, a goal from the penalty spot when referee Sylviu Petrescu judged a Toronto forward was brought down in the box, a 1-0 score at the break.


 


Midfielder Kasey Kiarosh made it 2-0 at 71 minutes when he found the net past St. Catharines goalkeeper Craig Yanni.


 


While the home side pressed to get back into the game, SC Toronto appeared to have the edge through to the final whistle when the game ended 2-0.


 


The win moves SC Toronto to a tie for second place with Toronto Croatia in the First Division standings with both teams three points behind the league-leading York Region Shooters.


 


SC Toronto are at home to North York Astros at Lamport Stadium on Friday, that’s an 8 pm kickoff, while St. Catharines are idle until their next home game against Brampton City Utd on Wednesday, July 6.
