SERBIAN WHITE EAGLES, SC WATERLOO SCORE FRIDAY VICTORIES
Serbian White Eagles defeated Real Mississauga 1-0 and SC Waterloo held on to a 4-3 score to beat CSC Mississauga, two games in the CSL First Division Friday night.
Midfielder Milan Kusic struck the first half goal giving Serbian White Eagles a narrow home victory at Centennial Stadium in Toronto’s west-end.
The win improved Serbian Eagles’ season record to 5-3-3WLT for 18 points and a move up to 4 position in the standings, while Real Mississauga now have a 2-7-2 record for 8 points in 7 position.
Defender Vladimir Zelenbaba opened the scoring for visiting SC Waterloo, finding the net past CSC Mississauga goalkeeper Faris Efendic at 33 minutes in the match at Iceland Field in Mississauga. It was Zelenbaba’s fifth goal of the season for a 1-0 score at the break.
Midfielder Toni Trograncic equalized for Mississauga, a 1-1 score at 48 minutes.
Waterloo went ahead 2-1 at 54 minutes, a goal by Mohammad Ali Heydarpour, and 3 minutes later forward Adis Hasecic scored his third goal of the season to increase the lead to 3-1.
CSC Mississauga’s Carlos Hoffmann beat Waterloo goalkeeper Marko Jelic to cut the Waterloo lead to 3-2 at 75 minutes, midfielder Stevan Vasic put Waterloo in front by a 4-2 score at 70 minutes and Hoffman scored his second goal for CSC Mississauga to reduce the lead a second time, a 4-3 score in favour of Waterloo at 75 minutes. The 4-3 score held until the final whistle.
Waterloo now has a 4-4-2 record in the standings for 14 points in 6 position, while CSC Mississauga has a 0-10-2 record at the foot of the standings.
There is one game in the CSL First Division Saturday with FC Ukraine United at home to Brantford Galaxy at Centennial Stadium, a 9 pm kickoff, while earlier in the day in the CSL Second Division FC Vorkuta B will host Milton B, a 2 pm kickoff at the St. Roberts ground.
