SC Waterloo were held to a 1-1 tie by North York Astros, while York Region Shooters and Brampton City Utd played to a scoreless draw, two games in the Canadian Soccer League First Division Sunday.
Following a scoreless first half at the Warrior Field in Waterloo, striker Drazen Vukovic struck his 4th goal of the season to open the scoring for SC Waterloo at the 50th minute mark, finding the net past Astros’ goalkeeper Kevin Lumbsden Pinto
North York tied the game 11 minutes later on a goal by defender Antoine Paul who beat Waterloo ‘keeper Imad Hakura, and the score held to the final whistle.
There were few scoring opportunities at the St. Joan of Arc ground at Maple where the game between the Shooters and Brampton City Utd ended scoreless, a game in which referee Joshua Jaramillo ejected two players, one in each half.
York Region’s Des Humphrey was shown the red card for Serious Foul Play at 23 minutes and Reisandri Fernandez-Cervantes of Brampton was ordered off at 84 minutes, also for Serious Foul Play.
