TWO HAT-TRICKS IN UKRAINE UNITED 9-0 VICTORY SATURDAY
FC Ukraine United inflicted a heavy 9-0 defeat on SC Waterloo and FC Vorkuta squeaked by Serbian White Eagles 1-0, two games in the Canadian Soccer League First Division Saturday.
Ukraine United forward Yevhen Falkovskyi and midfielder Pavlo Lukianets each scored a hat-trick, while Nazar Milishchuck struck twice and Vitalii Bohdanov found the net once to beat Waterloo goalkeeper Marko Jelic in a one-sided affair at RIM Park in Waterloo.
It was 4-0 at half-time.
FC Ukraine United improves its position in the standings with a 4-2-1WLT record, tied for second position with 13 points, while SC Waterloo now has a 1-4-0 record in seventh position.
Bogdan Riabets struck the lone winning goal for Vorkuta at 71 minutes following a tough and physical first half played in 32 degrees, steamy conditions at Esther Shiner Stadium in North York.
Riabets took a diagonal pass from Vadym Gostiev to drive the ball into the far corner from just inside the box.
The win was Vorkuta’s sixth of the season for a 6-0-1 record for 19 points. The 2017 season First Division winners remain unbeaten at the top of the standings.
It was the first defeat of the season for Serbian White Eagles, now with a 2-1-3 record for 9 points in fourth position in the table.
The CSL First Division resumes with four games during the weekend July 6-8.
