York Region Shooters increased their lead at the top of the CSL First Division with a 2-0 away win over Scarborough SC, Hamilton City rallied from a 1-0 first half deficit to score four goals in a 4-1 victory over Toronto Atomic and Brantford Galaxy were leading 1-0 against Ukraine United when the game was abandoned at 70 minutes.
Goals by midfielder Evan Beutlier at 34 minutes and David Guzman at 41 minutes gave York Region Shooters a 2-0 victory in the game against Scarborough at Birchmount Stadium, lifting York Region to a 12-point lead on top of the First Division.
The Shooters now have an 11-2-2 WLT record for 35 points, leaving Scarborough (7-5-2 for 23 points) tied in second place with Serbian White Eagles, also 23 points.
Toronto Atomic opened the scoring for a 1-0 lead against Hamilton City at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke, the goal coming at 25 minutes when Bogdan Poliakov found the net past Hamilton goalkeeper Adrian Becic. Drazen Vukovic tied the game 1-1 for Hamilton at 32 minutes and Igor Krmar put the visitors into a 2-1 lead at 36 minutes. It was 2-1 at the interval.
Maxime Boksic increased the Hamilton lead to 3-1 at 48 minutes and at 64 minutes Hamilton City were awarded a penalty by referee Ramee Artaj following a foul in the box and Zdenko Jurcevic scored from the spot. It was 4-1 at the final whistle.
Dragan Milovic struck the lone goal for Brantford Galaxy at 30 minutes in the game against FC Ukraine United at Lions Park, a 1-0 lead for the home side at halftime. The game was abandoned at 70 minutes by referee Gus Espinal, leaving the result to be decided.
