York Region Shooters continued their winning way unabated with a 4-0 away victory over the current CSL champions, SC Waterloo, to extend their undefeated run to all 11 regular season league matches and it was the only game in the CSL First Division Sunday.

It was a hard-fought encounter at Warrior Field in Waterloo, where the home side were determined to continue a recovery following a weak start to the season, while the Shooters are playing like they intend  to win the First Division title before the season ends.

York Region’s Babjide Fatoba opened the scoring, beating Waterloo goalkeeper Imad Hakura from close in at 23 minutes for a 1-0 score at the interval.

Midfielder Richard Edwards increased the lead to 2-0 at the 61st minute mark, heading into the net from a cross and while Waterloo attacked to get back on even terms they were left open to counter attacks which allowed the visitors to score two more.

Edwards struck the third goal at 73 minutes, his sixth of the season, and forward Adrian Pena made it 4-0 11 minutes later.

York Region now have now won nine and tied two games in their bid for the First Division title for 29 points on top of the table, and the Shooters have conceded an impressive just eight goals in their 11 games so far.

Waterloo now have a 3-6-4WLT record for 13 points and eighth position in the standings.

There were two games in the CSL Second Division Sunday with Brampton City Utd B defeating Serbian White Eagles B 2-1 and Burlington SC vs Milton FC ended in a 1-1 tie.
