SC Waterloo defeated Serbian White Eagles 3-1 and CSC Mississauga won the local derby against rivals Real Mississauga by a 2-1 score, two games in the CSL First Division Friday night.

Midfielder Emilio Estervez opened the scoring for visiting SC Waterloo almost immediately following the kickoff in windy conditions at Centennial Stadium. The 1-0 lead held up most of the remainder of the first half until Waterloo defender Sven Arapovic made it 2-0 at 45 minutes, his third goal of the season. It was 2-0 at half-time.

Serbian White Eagles’ defender Goran Kamber reduced the lead to 2-1 at 55 minutes, beating Waterloo goalkeeper Marko Jelic with a header off a Milos Scepanovic free kick.

Adis Hasecic struck the third goal for Waterloo at 89 minutes, a well-taken drive from 30 yards that caught the net just inside the far right post and the 3-1 score held until the final whistle. It was Hasecic’s fifth goal of the campaign.

Waterloo finished the game with 10 men after defender Vladimir Zelenbaba was shown the red card for Violent Conduct by referee Marcos Jaramillo.

Waterloo improve to 7-5-2 WLT for 23 points in fourth position in the standings following the victory, while Serbian White Eagles remain in 6 th  place with a 5-5-4 record for 19 points.

CSC Mississauga forward Pero Menalo opened the scoring at 33 minutes for a 1-0 lead against local rivals Real Mississauga at the Hershey Centre and it was 1-0 at the break.

Mauricio Konjic made it 2-0 for CSC Mississauga at 60 minutes and Real Mississauga player-coach Krum Bibishikov cut the lead to 2-1 with a drive from 35 yards that found the corner. It was a 2-1 score at the final whistle and a first win for CSC Mississauga in its inaugural CSL season.

CSC Mississauga has a 1-12-2 record for 5 points and ninth in the standings, while Real Mississauga is at 3-10-2 for 11 points in seventh position in the table.

There are four First Division matches scheduled for Sunday when Serbian White Eagles travel to RIM Park for a clash with SC Waterloo at 7 pm, Hamilton City is at home at the Heritage Field against Brantford Galaxy also at 7, Ukraine United will play their final regular season match and wanting to win by a margin of four or more goals in a First Division title decider against CSC Mississauga at Centennial Stadium, that’s at 7 pm and Real Mississauga will host Scarborough SC at the Hershey Centre, kickoff is 8.30 pm

VORKUTA 5-0 VICTORY THURSDAY LEAVES FC UKRAINE UNITED NEEDING 4-GOAL MARGIN TO WIN FIRST DIVISION TITLE

 

FC Vorkuta completed its regular season with a 5-0 win over Brantford Galaxy Thursday, to leave FC Ukraine United needing victory by a four-goal margin in its final regular season match on Sunday to clinch the CSL First Division title.

Ukraine United is expected to win the final match against winless CSC Mississauga, but it will take a four-goal margin to finish on top of the First Division.

Vorkuta ended its regular season 16-game campaign with a 12-2-2 WLT for 38 points, scoring 55 goals and conceding 16 for a goal difference of 39, while Ukraine United face Sunday’s final match with a 11-2-2 record for 35 points, scoring 50 goals and conceding 14, a goal difference of 36.

Vorkuta’s reserve team has already clinched the Second Division league title and FC Vorkuta and FC Vorkuta B both enter the post-season playoffs at the end of September for the CSL Championship and Second Division Championship, respectively.

Despite several early raids on the Brantford Galaxy goal at Esther Shiner Stadium,  Vorkuta were scoreless for 30 minutes until midfielder Vadym Gostiev’s powerful drive from outside the box caught the corner of the Galaxy net. It was Gostiev’s first of three goals in the match.

Vorkuta’s Sergii Ivliev struck the crossbar two minutes later and Gostiev scored his second goal from the rebound for a 2-0 Vorkuta lead. It was 2-0 at the interval.

Gostiev completed his hat-trick immediately following the second half kickoff, receiving a long diagonal pass from Oleksandr Tarasenko to move in and chip the ball under the bar, a 3-0 Vorkuta lead.

Ivliev struck the Vorkuta fourth goal at 50 minutes, his eleventh goal of the season, an easy tap in after receiving a cross from Serhii Ursulenko, and substitute forward Kristijan Kezic scored his second goal of the season at 82 minutes from a corner kick by Iaroslav Solonynko to complete the scoring at 5-0 for Vorkuta.

There are six First Division matches scheduled this coming weekend, beginning with two on Friday when Serbian White Eagles are at home in Centennial Stadium to SC Waterloo at 7, and Real Mississauga is host to CSC Mississauga at the Hershey Centre, that’s at 8.30 pm kickoff.

On Sunday, Serbian White Eagles travel to RIM Park for a match with SC Waterloo at 7 pm, Hamilton City is at home at the Heritage Field against Brantford Galaxy also at 7, Ukraine United will play their final regular season match and wanting to win by a margin of four goals in a First Division title decider against CSC Mississauga at Centennial Stadium, that’s at 7 pm and Real Mississauga will host Scarborough SC at the Hershey Centre, kickoff is 8.30 pm

In the Second Division, Serbian White Eagles B are at home to Milton SC B at Centennial Stadium on Friday night, that’s  a 9pm kickoff.

HAMILTON CITY 4-1 VICTORY ELIMINATES CSC MISSISSAUGA FROM PLAYOFFS

 

Two goals, one in each half by striker Sani Dey, proved too much for CSC Mississauga in a 4-1 home victory for Hamilton City in the only game played in the Canadian Soccer League Tuesday.

It was an even contest for most of the first half when CSC Mississauga’s  Pero Menalo beat Hamilton goalkeeper Alexandar Nicolic to open the scoring at 33 minutes at the Heritage Field in Hamilton.

Dey put the home side on even terms, scoring his first goal just two minutes later and it was 1-1 at the break.

Marko Zelenica took a pass from Dey to put Hamilton into a 2-1 lead at 63 minutes and one minute later Dey drove the ball into the corner of the net for a 3-1 Hamilton lead. Midfielder Kristian Puljic of Hamilton completed the scoring at 89 minutes, a 4-1 final score for the home side.

The victory improved Hamilton City to a 6-7-1 WLT record for 19 points,  now tied for fifth place with Serbian White Eagles in the First Division, while the loss eliminates CSC Mississauga from a post-season playoff berth. CSC Mississauga remains winless at 0-12-2 at the foot of the standings.

 

The CSL Championship playoffs begin on September 28 with the quarterfinals during that weekend, the semifinals will take place October 5,6 and 7 and the CSL Championship, together with the CSL Second Division Championship will be played at Centennial Stadium in Toronto’s west-end on Saturday, October 13.

 

A second midweek First Division match this week is played on Thursday, September 20 when Vorkuta completes its regular season at home to Brantford Galaxy at Esther Shiner Stadium in North York, a 9 pm kickoff.

SUNDAY VICTORY BRINGS LEAGUE TITLE DOWN TO VORKUTA’S FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME

 

 

FC Vorkuta outplayed Hamilton City 5-1 and Brantford Galaxy scored a narrow 1-0 victory over Real Mississauga, two games in the CSL First Division Sunday night.

Sergii Ivliev scored twice, numbers 11 and 12 on the season, to increase the striker’s lead in the CSL First Division scoring title. Others were singles by  Oleh Kerchu (goal number 4 on the season), Mykhailo Riabyi ( 4 on the season) and Valerii Haidarzhi. It was 3-0 at the break.

Midfielder Stefan Blazic struck the lone Hamilton City goal at 55 minutes.

The win places Vorkuta in a tie on points at the top of the table with Ukraine United – each has an 11-2-2 WLT record for 35 points. The teams are tied on two tiebreakers – total wins in regular season and head to head record against each other based on total points. Ukraine United has the two-goal advantage on the next tiebreaker, which is goal difference.

Both teams have one game remaining in the regular season and if still tied on points following these final games, the goal differential will decide the First Division winner. Should the teams be tied on the goal differential, the total goals scored during the regular season will then be the tiebreaker.

Vorkuta’s last regular season match is against Brantford Galaxy is on Thursday, September 20, a 9 pm kickoff at Esther Shiner Stadium and  Ukraine United’s final regular season game against CSC Mississauga is on Sunday, September 23 at Centennial Stadium, a 7 pm start.

A goal at 14 minutes by Brantford Galaxy striker Donart Beqiri was enough to give the home side a 1-0 victory over Real Mississauga at the Heritage Field, a result that improved the Galaxy to a 3-8-2 record for 11 points to now tie Real Mississauga (3-8-2 for 11 points) for seventh position in the standings.

There are two rare midweek games scheduled this week when  on Tuesday, September 18, Hamilton City is at home at the Heritage Field to visiting CSC Mississauga, an 8 pm kickoff,  and on Thursday, September 20 it’s the Vorkuta final regular season match at home to Brantford Galaxy. The venue is Esther Shiner Stadium, a 9 pm start

Late goals gave Scarborough SC a 3-1 come from behind away victory over SC Waterloo in the only First Division match in the Canadian Soccer League Saturday.

Waterloo held a 1-0 lead for most of the first half when Miodrag Kovacevic found the net past Scarborough goalkeeper John Trye at 3 minutes and that score held most of the first half until Scarborough were awarded a penalty following an untidy tackle inside the Waterloo 18 yard line. Scarborough’s Alexander Stojiljkovic drove the ball into the net from the spot at 42 minutes and it was 1-1 at the interval. It was goal 4 on the season for Kovacevic and Stojiljkovic’s 10 th of the 2018 campaign.

It was a closely contested second half heading for a draw until 86 minutes when forward Atif Hammud Ali headed a cross into the net out of reach of Waterloo goalkeeper Marko Jelic and just three minutes later Hammud Ali struck a second goal with a drive inside the box for a 3-1 score, which remained until the final whistle. The goals were 5 and 6 on the season for Hammud Ali.

The win gives Scarborough a 7-3-5 WLT record for 26 points and the east Toronto team retains third position in the standings, while Waterloo are at 6-5-2 for 20 points is in fourth place.

There are two First Division games on Sunday when Vorkuta travels to the Heritage Field for the match with Hamilton City, that’s a 6.30 pm kickoff and Brantford Galaxy is at home to Real Mississauga, an 8.30 pm start at the Heritage Field.

FC Vorkuta B, the club’s reserve squad, has won the CSL Second Division with two games remaining in the regular season.

It’s the second league title victory following the First Division triumph in Vorkuta’s inaugural 2017 campaign.

The club is presently in a see-saw battle with FC Ukraine United for the top spot in the First Division. Vorkuta has two games remaining – against Hamilton City and Brantford Galaxy, while Ukraine United, with a three-points lead over Vorkuta, has  just one remaining game (against CSC Mississauga) to complete its regular season schedule.

Ukraine United or Vorkuta will win the First Division. Each team may end the season with 38 points, in which case tie-breakers will be employed to decide the First Division title.

The teams are tied when the first tie-breaker –  the head-to-head results between the two teams –  is applied. The next tie-breaker, goal difference in regular season games, gives Ukraine United an edge with a goal differential of 36 compared to 30 for Vorkuta.

Vorkuta needs goals to achieve a regular season double and will travel to the Heritage Field for the match with Hamilton City on Sunday, that’s a 6.30 pm kickoff. Vorkuta’s last regular season match against Brantford Galaxy is on Thursday, September 20, a 9 pm kickoff at Esther Shiner Stadium. Ukraine United’s final regular season game against CSC Mississauga is on Sunday, September 23 at Centennial Stadium, a 7 pm start.

There is one First Division match this Saturday when SC Waterloo hosts Scarborough SC at RIM Park, a 6.30 pm kickoff and in addition to the Hamilton City vs FC Vorkuta game on Sunday, there is Brantford Galaxy at home to Real Mississauga, an 8.30 pm start at the Heritage Field.

FC Ukraine United jumped three points clear at the top of the First Division with a 3-1 victory over Hamilton City, SC Waterloo was in total command to defeat Real Mississauga 6-1, and the Scarborough vs Serbian White Eagles match was played to a scoreless tie, three games in the CSL First Division Sunday.

Ukraine United opened the scoring at the 9th minute mark in a well played, physical encounter with Hamilton City at Centennial Stadium, the goal coming directly from an in-swinging corner kick by forward Taras Hromiak and it was 1-0 at the break.

Ukraine United pressed in the second half resulting in two goals by forward Yevhen Falkovskyi, the first a header off a cross by Roman Datsiuk at 69 minutes, followed by a breakaway at 80 minutes to give Ukraine United a 3-0  lead. The goals were 6 and 7 on the season for the Ukraine United forward. Filip Seculik struck for Hamilton City at 85 minutes and the 3-1 score for the home side held to the final whistle.

Ukraine United go three points clear to lead the First Division with an 11-2-2 WLT record for 35 points, while Hamilton City are in sixth position with a 5-6-1 record for 16 points.

Midfielder Stevan Vasic opened the scoring for SC Waterloo after six minutes at the Bronte Athletic Field and this was followed by two goals in quick succession by Waterloo defender Sven Arapovic who found the net at 24 and 28 minutes for a 3-0 lead by the visitors.

Waterloo forward Ivan Cutura increased the lead at 35 minutes for a 4-0 lead at the interval and Slobodan Ristic made it 5-0 at 79 minutes.

Real Mississauga defender Edmond Badal beat Waterloo goalkeeper Marko Jelic to cut the lead to 5-1 at 80 minutes and Miodrag Kovasevic of Waterloo  found the net three minutes later to complete the scoring, a 6-1 Waterloo victory.

Waterloo improve to a 6-4-2 record for 20 points and fourth in the standings, while Real Mississauga have a 3-8-2 record for 11 points in seventh position.

There were few opportunities in the scoreless tie and largely midfield contest between Scarborough and Serbian White Eagles at Birchmount Stadium, which gave the home side a 6-3-5 record for 23 points in third position in the table, while Serbian White Eagles now have a 5-4-4 record for 19 points and drop to fifth in the standings.

Goalkeeper Senad Poracanin led Real Mississauga to a 2-0 victory by scoring the opening goal against Brantford Galaxy, while in one other game FC Vorkuta made no mistake in their relentless drive for the First Division title with a 5-0 defeat of CSC Mississauga, two games played in the Canadian Soccer League Friday night.

The Real Mississauga victory over the Galaxy at the Hershey Centre was a close encounter with Poracanin playing a reverse role by finding the net from the penalty spot in the first half. Real improves to a 3-7-2 WLT record for 11 points in 7 position in the standings and appear assured of a playoff berth as one of the top eight in the upcoming post-regular season CSL championship games.

Brantford Galaxy (4 games remaining) has a 2-8-2 record for 8 points following the loss and while in a very favorable position for a playoff spot can still be caught by ninth place CSC Mississauga, now with a 0-11-2 for 2 points record and 3 games remaining.

FC Vorkuta attacked early and with purpose against CSC Mississauga at Iceland Field to take a 1-0 lead at six minutes by midfielder Oleh Kerchu and minutes later defender Oleksander Tarasenko drove the ball from the edge of the box to make it 2-0. It was 3-0 just before the break when Iaroslav Solonynko headed into the top corner, his 7 goal of the season.

Substitute Ihor Melnyk tapped in a well-placed cross into the second half to increase the visitors’ lead to 4-0 and  Valerii Yarmosh completed the scoring for a 5-0 victory.

FC Vorkuta has a 10-2-2 record following the win, to tie FC Ukraine United in the standings, each with 32 points and each with two games remaining in the regular season.

There are three games in the CSL First Division Sunday, when Real Mississauga is at home to SC Waterloo at the Bronte Athletic Field, a 5 pm kickoff, Hamilton City travel to Centennial Stadium in Toronto’s west-end for a match with FC Ukraine United, a 7 pm start, and Scarborough SC is at home in Birchmount Stadium to Serbian White Eagles, an 8 pm kickoff.

In the CSL Second Division there are four games through to Wednesday with the first on Saturday with Halton United B at home to Milton SC B at Norton Park, an 8 pm kickoff, Brantford Galaxy B is at home FC Vorkuta B at Lions Park on Sunday, a 6 pm kickoff,  on Monday it’s Scarborough SC B vs Serbian White Eagles B at the St. Joan of Arc Stadium in Maple, that’s at 9 pm, and on Wednesday, Brantford Galaxy B is back at home in Lions Park for a match with Serbian White Eagles B, a 7.30 pm start.

FC UKRAINE UNITED ON TOP 3-2 IN WELL PLAYED ENCOUNTER SATURDAY

 

 

 

FC Ukraine United moved once more into the top position following a 3-2 victory over FC Vorkuta, a well-played and only game in the CSL First Division Saturday night.

Ukraine United midfielder Pavlo Lukianets opened the scoring shortly after the kickoff at Esther Shiner Stadium, lifting the ball from a set play over the wall into the corner of the net.

Vorkuta drew level at 27 minutes when a slip up by Ukraine United goalkeeper Oleksandr Popravka gave Vorkuta midfielder Bohdan Riabets an opportunity to put the ball into an empty net and the 1-1 score held to the interval.

Vitalii Bogdanov put Ukraine United into a 2-1 lead at 48 minutes, a drive from 22 yards following a poor clearance that entered the net out of reach of the home goalkeeper Oleksandr Musiienko.

Yuriy Sokolovskyi increased the lead to 3-1 at for the visitors, the Ukraine United midfielder closing in to find the net with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Vorkuta cut the lead to 3-2 at 74 minutes, a diving header by Oleksandr Volchkov off a corner kick by Maksym Gramm and the home side pressed for an equalizer with several close calls, but Ukraine United held the lead to the final whistle.

Ukraine United have a 10-2-2 WLT record for 32 points following the win, while Vorkuta – with one game in hand –  are now second with a 9-2-2 record for 29 points. Scarborough SC is running in third position with 22 points, Serbian White Eagles have 18, Waterloo 17 and Hamilton City 16.

The post regular season playoffs begin late September when the top eight First Division teams entering the quarter finals. The First Division winner will be at home to the team in the eighth position in the standings and it will be 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5.

CSL tie-breaker rules will apply for teams tied on points in the final regular season standings. The first- tie-breaker is total wins between two teams tied on points, the second tie-breaker is head to head based on total points. If still tied, the third tie-breaker is goal difference and the fourth tie-breaker, if necessary, is total goals scored.

Six First Division teams have so far secured a post-season berth in the CSL Championship playoffs – they are FC Ukraine United, FC Vorkuta, Scarborough SC, Serbian White Eagles, SC Waterloo and Hamilton City. Two more from the three remaining teams will gain a berth.  The remaining teams are: Brantford Galaxy, Real Mississauga and CSC Mississauga.

Brantford Galaxy scored a 1-0 away victory over Serbian White Eagles and SC Waterloo defeated Hamilton City 3-0, two games in the Canadian Soccer League First Division Friday.

Following an even, scoreless first half at Centennial Stadium in Toronto’s west-end, Brantford Galaxy went ahead at 59 minutes when defender Filip Cvetic took a pass from Donart Baqiri to find the net past Serbian White Eagles’ goalkeeper Nemanja Radenkovic.

Serbian Eagles attempted to get on even terms late in the second half, but the score held to the final whistle for a home defeat that left the fourth place team with a rapidly fading opportunity to challenge for regular season First Division honors.

Serbian Eagles held on to fourth place in the table with a 5-4-3 WLT record for 18 points following the loss, trailing Vorkuta and  Ukraine United at the top of the standings, each with 29 points and Scarborough with 22 points in third position.

It was Brantford Galaxy’s second win of the season and an important one in the late-season effort to gain a spot in the post season championship where eight of the nine First Division teams will qualify for a playoff berth.

Brantford has a 2-7-2 record for eight points in eighth position compared to winless CSC Mississauga with a 0-10-2 record for two points in ninth position at the foot of the table.

Midfielder Miodrag Kovacevic struck two goals in the 3-0 Waterloo victory over Hamilton City at RIM Park, the first coming just before the interval on a rebound off Hamilton goalkeeper Stefan Avramovic for a 1-0 Waterloo lead at the break.

Forward Adis Hasecic made it 2-0 from the penalty spot at 50 minutes, his fourth goal of the season, and Kovacevic scored his second of the match at 70 minutes for a 3-0 lead for the home side, a score that held until the final whistle.

Waterloo improved to 5-4-2 for 17 points in fifth position following the win, while Hamilton City  now has a 5-5-1 record for 16 points in sixth position.

There is one CSL First Division game remaining over the Labour Day Weekend,  with FC Vorkuta at home in Esther Shiner Stadium to FC Ukraine United on Saturday, that’s a 7 pm kickoff.

There is one Second Division over the holiday weekend with Milton SC B  at home to Scarborough B at the Milton Sports Centre on Sunday, a 7.30 pm kickoff.

TWO GOALS BY JAVIER PEREZ LEADS CSL VETERANS TO 6-2 VICTORY

 

 

The CSL Veteran All Stars took a 3-0 lead at half-time and went on to a 6-2 victory over visiting Brazilian side Anarqui Futebol & Amigos at the St. Joan of Arc Stadium at Maple, just north of Toronto Tuesday.

It was the opener of four exhibition games being played in a North American tour by the team of veteran players from Sao Paulo, to be followed by games in Montreal and Quebec City, then Orlando, Florida.

The Anarqui Futebol & Amigos team has toured each of the last 11 years, mostly in Europe and the African continent. It’s the team’s first visit to North America.

The CSL Veteran All Stars took an early 3-minute lead on the first of two goals by Javier Perez who found the net from 6 yards past Brazilian goalkeeper Ronaldo Paiva and seven minutes later Lyubomyr Halchuck, a veteran with the FC Vorkuta side, made it 2-0.

Courtney Welsh struck for the Canadian team at 32 minutes and it was 3-0 at the break.

Perez scored his second for the CSL Veteran All Stars to increase the lead to 4-0 at 49 minutes, Leo Lopez headed in from a right wing cross to increase the lead to 5-0 and Franco LoFranco found the net at 70 minutes for a 6-0 lead.

Anarqui Futebol & Amigos cut the lead to 6-1 with a goal by Silvio Cesar who took a pass from Francisco Coelho at 72 minutes and at 77 minutes Antonio Neto beat Canadian goalkeeper Diego Quiroga for Brazilian veterans’ second goal, a 6-2 score which held to the final whistle.

CANADIAN TEAM ANNOUNCED FOR MATCH WITH ANARQUI FUTEBOL & AMIGOS OF BRAZIL

 

 

 

 

The Canadian Soccer League has announced its roster for the veterans match with Anarqui Futebol & Amigos of Sao Paulo, Brazil set for the St. Joan of Arc Stadium at Maple, just north of Toronto tomorrow, Tuesday, August 28.

The Brazilian team of over 45 year old veterans has been playing in various parts of the world – mostly Europe and the African continent – for 11 years, and is making its first visit to North America starting with the match near Toronto and followed by visits to Montreal, Quebec City and Orlando, Florida.

UKRAINE UNITED DEFEAT BRANTFORD GALAXY 3-0 SATURDAY

 

 

FC Ukraine United defeated Brantford Galaxy 3-0 to draw level on points with top-of-the-table Vorkuta in the only CSL First Division match played Saturday.

It was a well-played encounter in the first half when Ukraine United took a 2-0 lead at Centennial Stadium, followed by a more physical second half and a late third goal which put the game out of reach for the Galaxy.

It was a foul in the box that caused referee Afsar Khan to point to the penalty spot in the first half and Ukraine United midfielder Ihor Malysh scored his sixth of the season, driving the ball out of reach of Brantford goalkeeper Georgi Jovicic for the 1-0 lead.

A breakaway put Ukraine forward Nazar Milishchuk in the clear to make it 2-0, his seventh  goal of the season,  and a low drive from 16 yards by substitute Pavlo Lukianets at 76 minutes made it 3-0, the score at the final whistle. It was Lukianets’ eighth goal to lead Ukraine United in the scoring.

FC Ukraine United improve to a 9-2-2 WLT record for 29 points, while Brantford Galaxy are at 1-7-2 for five points in eighth position in the table.

Ukraine United and FC Vorkuta are tied with 29 points, seven points clear of third team Scarborough with 22.

Ukraine United has three games remaining in the 16-game regular season schedule, while FC Vorkuta has four games to complete its regular season. These two teams meet at Esther Shiner Stadium on September 1. Scarborough SC also has three regular season games remaining.

The CSL First Division resumes with three games over the Labour Day holiday weekend.

SERBIAN WHITE EAGLES, SC WATERLOO SCORE FRIDAY VICTORIES

 

 

 

Serbian White Eagles defeated Real Mississauga 1-0 and SC Waterloo held on to a 4-3 score to beat CSC Mississauga, two games in the CSL First Division Friday night.

Midfielder Milan Kusic struck the first half goal giving Serbian White Eagles a narrow home victory at Centennial Stadium in Toronto’s west-end.

The win improved Serbian Eagles’ season record to 5-3-3WLT for 18 points and a move up to 4 position in the standings, while Real Mississauga now have a 2-7-2 record for 8 points in 7 position.

Defender Vladimir  Zelenbaba opened the scoring for visiting SC Waterloo, finding the net past CSC Mississauga goalkeeper Faris Efendic at 33 minutes in the match at Iceland Field in Mississauga. It was Zelenbaba’s fifth goal of the season for a 1-0 score at the break.

Midfielder Toni Trograncic equalized for Mississauga, a 1-1 score at 48 minutes.

Waterloo went ahead 2-1 at 54 minutes, a goal by Mohammad Ali Heydarpour, and 3 minutes later forward Adis Hasecic scored his third goal of the season to increase the lead to 3-1.

CSC Mississauga’s Carlos Hoffmann beat Waterloo goalkeeper Marko Jelic to cut the Waterloo lead to 3-2 at 75 minutes, midfielder Stevan Vasic put Waterloo in front by a 4-2 score at 70 minutes and Hoffman scored his second goal for CSC Mississauga to reduce the lead a second time, a 4-3 score in favour of Waterloo at 75 minutes. The 4-3  score held until the final whistle.

Waterloo now has a 4-4-2 record in the standings for 14 points in 6 position, while CSC Mississauga has a 0-10-2 record at the foot of the standings.

There is one game in the CSL First Division Saturday with FC Ukraine United at home to Brantford Galaxy at Centennial Stadium, a 9 pm kickoff, while earlier in the day in the CSL Second Division FC Vorkuta B will host Milton B, a 2 pm kickoff at the St. Roberts ground.
