LONDON CITY OPEN THEIR ACCOUNT WITH FIRST VICTORY…..Milton held to a 1-1 draw by Scarborough

London-CityLondon City won their first game of the season, a 2-1 defeat of Niagara United, while Milton SC and Scarborough SC fought to a 1-1 draw, two First Division games in the CSL Sunday.

London City opened the scoring at the Hellenic Centre in London with a goal from the penalty spot, the penalty called by referee Gus Espinal following a hand ball by a Niagara United defender inside the box. Forward Aldin Kukic scored from the spot at the 9 minute mark and it was 1-0 at the break.

Edin Kozica increased the lead to 2-0 for London City at the 73 minute and the home side continued on top until Omar Hamadi struck for Niagara United at 81 minutes, beating London goalkeeper  Vladimir Markotic. The game ended 2-1 for London’s first victory in the 2015 campaign.

Scarborough scored first in the game with Milton SC at the Jean Vanier Field in Milton when Jose Goncalves De Sousa beat Milton goalkeeper Zoran Pusica from 15 yards at the 40 minute mark and it was 1-0 at the break.

Rusmir Dizdarevic equalized for the home side at 83 minutes, taking a cross from Zoran Belosevic on the left wing to find the net past Scarborough goalkeeper Mladen Kukrika. It was 1-1 at the final whistle.

There was one game in the CSL Second Division Sunday when Toronto Croatia B defeated Milton SC B 2-1.
