Stefan Vukovic scored the winner for Brantford Galaxy Toronto Atomic FC were defeated 2-1 by foot of the table Brantford Galaxy in the only game played in the Canadian Soccer League Saturday night.
Dorde Stankov opened the scoring from the penalty spot for Brantford Galaxy at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke, finding the net past Atomic goalkeeper Vasyl Shpuk at the 45 minute mark. Referee called the penalty following a hand ball infringement in the Atomic defence. It was 1-0 at the break.
Toronto Atomic drew level 1-1 at 77 minutes, a goal by midfielder Ivan Sozanskyi who took a pass from a well-placed corner kick to drive the ball from 28 yards past Galaxy goalkeeper Luka Besenic.
Forward Stefan Vukovic struck the winner for the visiting Brantford Galaxy just one minute following the tying goal, a 2-1 score which held until the final whistle.
The win for the struggling Brantford Galaxy was the third of the season and lifted the team just west of Toronto off the bottom position in the standings with a 3-8-8 WLT record for 17 points, while Atomic remain tied for fourth place in the standings with a 7-7-6 record for 27 points.
