SCARBOROUGH  ON TOP WITH 6-1 VICTORY

Scarborough maintained a three-point lead in the standings with an impressive 6-1 victory over Hamilton City, Toronto Falcons defeated Unity FC 4-0 and Serbian White Eagles scored its sixth win of the season, also a 4-0 result in the opener of three matches at Centennial Stadium Saturday, September 7.

Marko Prokic opened the scoring for Scarborough at 11 minutes and Hamilton City forward Lamine Moussa headed into the net from a corner kick to tie the score 1-1 at the 37th minute mark.. Scarborough went ahead 2-1 with a drive inside the post by Devroy Gray and the east Toronto team took control with goals by  Matias Gonzales, Mohamed El Sabahi and two by Junior Santana, a 6-1 result at the final whistle.

Toronto Falcons were quick off the mark with a goal in the first minute by  midfielder Oleksandr Dikhtiaruk, and Ivan Varvarynets made it 2-0 eight minutes later. Midfielder Oleh Kivalo struck twice at 22 and 42 minutes  to seal the victory for Falcons, a 4-0 final score.

Defender Ivan Cendic scored late in the first half to give Serbian White Eagles a 1-0 lead at the interval and Nikola Timotijevic made it 2-0 at 56 minutes. White Eagles’ forward Marko Pavicevic increased the lead to 3-0  and Timotijevic scored a second goal for a 4-0 result. Three players, Nikola Durkovic and Dejan Koraksic of Serbian White Eagles, and Kevin Yanez of Spanish Future Stars, were shown the red card for Violent Conduct late in the second half.

Toronto Falcons and Serbian White Eagles are tied with 19 points for second and third respectively in the table, with Falcons having the superior goal average. 

The CSL schedule resumes on Saturday, September 14 with Serbian White Eagles vs Scarborough in the 2 pm opener, it’s  Toronto Falcons vs Hamilton City at 4 pm and Unity FC vs Spanish Future Stars at 6.
