Toronto Croatia scored its biggest win of the season to dominate Scarborough SC 7-0, while Niagara United and Milton SC played to a scoreless tie, two First Division games in the Canadian Soccer League Saturday night.
There were six scorers while the Toronto Croatia attack had a field day at the Loyola Stadium in Oakville, registering the team’s highest score of the season.
Defender Josip Keran led the way with a goal at 7 minutes, Darren Chambers made it 2-0 at 20 minutes and Jure Glavina beat Scarborough goalkeeper Mladen Kukrika to make it 3-0 at 30 minutes, the score at the interval.
Keran and Chambers increased their goalscoring to six on the season.
Anes Handanovic scored twice, at 67 and 78 minutes for a 5-0 score, Hayden Fitzwilliams increased the Toronto Croatia lead to 6-0 at 83 minutes and Halburto Harris completed the scoring which stood at 7-0 at the final whistle.
Toronto Croatia edge up to third position in the standings with a 6-3-1 WLT record for 19 points, and Scarborough SC are at 3-3-6 in eighth position in the standings with 15 points.
It was a well-played scoreless encounter at the Kalar Sports Park in Niagara Falls with much midfield play in the game between Niagara United and visiting Milton SC.
Milton played the last 30 minutes with 10 men after Rusmir Dizdarevic was ordered off following a second caution.
Milton improve to 5-5-2 with 17 points to be tied with Toronto Atomic for fifth position in the standings, while Niagara United remain in 12 position with a 1-8-3 record for 6 points.
There was one game played in the CSL Second Division Saturday when Milton SC B nipped Niagara United B 1-0.
