Two goals by forward Bojan Stepanovic assured Burlington SC of a 3-2 victory over Milton SC, the only game played in the Canadian Soccer League Thursday night.
It was the visiting Milton that took the lead at the Norton North ground in Burlington with a goal by midfielder Adrian Smajic who found the net after 7 minutes past Burlington goalkeeper Vladimir Vujasinovic.
Erwin Uzunovic tied the game 1-1 for Burlington at 16 minutes and Stepanovic struck his first goal six minutes later when he beat Milton goalkeeper Zoran Pusica, giving the home side a 2-1 lead. It was 2-1 at half-time.
Stepanovic increased the lead to 3-1 for Burlington at 58 minutes and Smajic scored his second goal for Milton at 77 minutes to reduce the lead to 3-2.
The victory improved Burlington to a 4-5-3 record for 15 points and tied for seventh position in the standings, while Milton are at 5-5-1 for 16 points in sixth spot.
