ZAKRAJSEK LEADS WITH FOUR GOALS IN HAMILTON VICTORY

REAL MISSISSAUGA UPSETS SERBIAN EAGLES 1-0

Hamilton City striker Tim Zakrajsek led his team with four goals to a 9-0 drubbing of CSC Mississauga, and in one other game Friday night, an own goal by a Serbian White Eagles defender late In the game gave Real Mississauga a 1-0 victory.

In a game that ended in a downpour at Iceland Field in Mississauga, the visitors struck early when midfielder Krista Glasanovic found the net past Mississauga goalkeeper Fans Efendic almost immediately following the kickoff.
Zakrajsek made it 2-0 with his first goal at the 4th minute mark and added his second for a 3-0 Hamilton lead at 15 minutes. Zakrajsek completed his hat-trick at 33 minutes for a 4-0 score and scored his fourth goal at the 50th minute mark.

Hamilton forward Sani Dey also scored three and a second goal by Glasanovic completed the scoring for a 9-0 result at the final whistle.
The win improved Hamilton City’s record to 4-4-0 WLT for 12 points, tied for 4th position in the standings with Serbian White Eagles, while CSC Mississauga are still winless with a 0-7-2 record in 9th position.

CSC Mississauga team manager Shawn Bhikhu explained his team is not discouraged by the winless streak in its inaugural year in semi-professional soccer.

“ The CSL is a tough league, very competitive, but most of our players from the Hamilton area are stepping up, getting used to it and gaining confidence. And there is still time remaining in the season to get results,” he said near the end of the match.

A fumble in the Serbian White Eagles goalmouth at 81 minutes broke a scoreless tie with Real Mississauga at the Hershey Center. Serbian Eagles defender Branislav Vukomanovic attempted a pass back which eluded goalkeeper Nemanja Radenkovic and the ball entered the net for an own goal giving the home side Real Mississauga a 1-0 victory.

It was a close contest throughout with Real Mississauga coming close to scoring in the first half.
The win gives Real Mississauga a 2-3-1 record for 7 points and a leap to sixth position in the standings, while Serbian White Eagles have a 3-2-3 record for 12 points and remain in fourth position in the table.

Real Mississauga will be playing a second game in a two-game weekend back-to-back by visiting Birchmount Stadium on Sunday for a match with Scarborough SC. Kickoff is 8 pm.

There are two matches in the CSL Second Division over the weekend, one on Saturday at 8 pm with Halton United B at home to Milton SC B at Norton Park and on Sunday it’s Brantford Galaxy B at home in Lions Park to Scarborough SC B, that’s a 6 pm kickoff.
