MONTREAL ACADEMY 3-0 VICTORY OVER NORTH YORK ASTROS…..Quebec side continues its fine form

Montreal Impact Academy continued its good form with a 3-0 victory over North York Astros, the only game in the CSL First Division Saturday.


 


Defender Felix Cardin opened the scoring at Esther Shiner Stadium in North York, he struck after just eight minutes for a 1- 0 Montreal Academy lead.


 


Midfielder Vacine Ait Slimane made it 2-0 at the 13th minute mark, the score at the break.


 


Ait Slimane scored a second and Montreal’s third goal just after the interval, a drive from 20 yards to beat North York goalkeeper Alberto Domenico Rocha at the 46th minute mark, and the 3-0 score held to the final whistle.


 


Astros’ defender Omar Jose Ron Cabrera received a second caution and was ejected at 93 minutes, just before the final whistle.


 


The win moves Montreal Impact Academy into third position in the standings with an 11-3-5 WLT record for 38 points, behind top team Toronto Croatia and SC Toronto in second. North York Astros are at 2-18-1 for seven points.The top four teams in the final table have a home field advantage in the quarterfinals to be played mid-October.
