VUKOVIC LIFTS TFC ACADEMY TO 5-1 VICTORY AT ST. CATHARINES

Two goals by the CSL First Division leading scorer Stefan Vukovic played an important part in lifting TFC Academy to a 5-1 victory over St. Catharines Wolves in the only game played in the Canadian Soccer League Wednesday night.


 


Following a well-played scoreless first half, Vukovic opened the scoring at the 49th minute mark and TFC midfielder Sergio Camargo made in 2-0 seven minutes later


 


Vukovic increased the lead to 3-0 at 61 minutes and Dimitri Omphroy scored a TFC Academy goal at the 69th minute mark, deflecting a free kick past St. Catharines goalkeeper James Draper for a 4-0 lead.


 


The goals for Vukovic were his 11th and 12th of the season.


 


Academy defender Joshua Gross scored a fifth goal for the visitors at 85 minutes, a 5-0 score and Gross put the ball past his own goalkeeper, Angelo Cavelluzzo, to score an OG for St. Catharines and it was 5-1 at the final whistle.


 


The win gave TFC Academy their fourth win of the season for an improved 4-9-1 WLT record for 13 points, while St. Catharines have a 3-8-2 record for 11 points.
