TFC ACADEMY, WINDSOR STARS WIN FRIDAY GAMES……TFC jump to second place in standings

An early goal by forward Christian Campanella was enough to give TFC Academy a 1-0 home victory over Kingston FC Friday night and in one other game, Windsor Stars scored late to take the win over Mississauga Eagles FC.

Campanella struck at the 11th minute mark for TFC at Downsview Park in north Toronto, he beat Kingston FC goalkeeper Waleed Cassis from close range for the fifth win of the season. The win lifted the academy side into second position in the standings.

It was a late goal that gave the visiting Windsor Stars the three points with the narrow 1-0 win over Mississauga Eagles FC at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga and Christian Dragoi scored the picture goal at 80 minutes from just inside the penalty box, a low drive that left the Eagles’ goalkeeper Ivan Skoko with no chance.

Dragoi was given an opportunity to put the visitors two-up just before the final whistle when referee Yusri Rudolf pointed to the penalty spot following a tripping incident inside the 18 yard line, but the Windsor player shot wide of the post and the game ended 1-0.
