SC Toronto forward Jarek Whiteman scored an early season hat-trick to lead his team to a 4-1 defeat of Mississauga Eagles FC at the Hershey Centre Friday night and in two other games in the CSL, Toronto Croatia handed London City a 3-1 home defeat while Serbian White Eagles scored two late goals in a 2-0 victory over North York Astros.
Whiteman, who scored 11 goals for the Toronto side in the 2011 season, opened the scoring against Mississauga with a goal at 27 minutes, added a second four minutes later for a 2-0 SC Toronto lead at half-time, then completed his hat-trick 13 minutes into the second half.
The lone Mississauga Eagles goal was scored by Jose Melo, while Carlos Nogueira struck the fourth goal for the visitors at 68 minutes and the 4-1 lead remained to the final whistle.
The loss was a reversal of form for Mississauga Eagles FC following their 5-1 home opener victory over North York Astros on May 11.
Two late goals, at 82 minutes by midfielder Kirie Dimitrov and at 90 minutes by Zoran Rajovic gave Serbian White Eagles the 2-0 victory at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke.
