Current CSL champions Brantford Galaxy received a surprise set-back in their bid for a playoff berth, losing 4-1 in the hands of Windsor Stars at Windsor Stadium Saturday night, while in a game played earlier in the day, Montreal Impact Academy gained an important 2-1 win over Mississauga Eagles FC at the Saputo Stadium in Montreal.
Forward Aaron Byrd opened the scoring for Windsor Stars at the 13th minute and increased the lead to 2-0 at the 35th minute mark.
Midfielder Nenad Begovic reduced the lead to 2-1 with a goal for the Galaxy at the 54 minutes, but that was short-lived when one minute later at 55 minutes David Kadoic increased the home lead to 3-1, scoring on a breakaway. Kadoic again beat
Montreal Impact took the lead on a goal by Kevin Luarca at the 41st minute mark, a 1-0 score in favour of the home side at the interval.

With two games remaining in their regular season schedule (against Montreal Impact Academy and Capital City FC), Saturday’s defeat puts the defending CSL champions Brantford Galaxy in a difficult position to secure one of those two remaining berths. The remaining two positions are being pursued also by Mississauga Eagles FC, Brampton City Utd and
Eight teams will enter into a home and away quarterfinals series, to get underway during October. There will be one game in each of the two semifinals and one game for the CSL Championship Final.
