York Region Shooters recovered from an early 1-0 deficit in their home encounter with Windsor Stars at the St. Joan of Arc ground in Maple and went on to score four goals for the 4-1 victory.
Striker Aaron Byrd put the border team 1-up at 11 minutes and the lead held until York Region’s Jason De Thomasis equalized at 39 minutes with a drive from 25 yards.
Midfielder Dino Gardener put the Shooters 2-1 in the lead at 62 minutes and Des Humphrey increased the lead to 3-1 seven minute later with a volley from 18 yards.
Carlo Rivas rounded the scoring with a goal at 73 minutes for a 4-1 final score.
