CAPITAL CITY FC EXTEND UNBEATEN STREAK, MISSISSAUGA EAGLES DEFEAT BRAMPTON CITY UTD AND ASTROS STILL WINLESS WITH LOSS TO BRANTFORD GALAXY

Capital City FC kept up their unbeaten streak which now stretches to nine games with a 4-1 defeat of London City, Mississauga Eagles scored a 3-1 victory over Brampton City Utd and Brantford Galaxy scored a late winner to defeat North York Astros 2-1, three games in the CSL Sunday.


 


Midfielder Emir Zrnic opened the scoring at nine minutes for Capital City FC in the game against London at the Terry Fox Stadium in Ottawa, he drove the ball from 25 yards inside the right post.


 


Forward Will Beauge made it 2-0 five minutes later and at 25 minutes London had an opportunity to reduce the lead when awarded a penalty kick. Forward Michael Marcoccia scored from the spot, but the penalty had to be re-taken when London’s Yo Matsuo encroached in the penalty area. Capital City FC goalkeeper Clint Irwin saved on the second attempt.


 


Sullivan Silva scored his sixth of the season just before the half-time whistle to increase the Capital City score to 3-0 and Beauge struck his second goal for the home side at make it 4-0 at 76 minutes.


 


Defender David Harriman Duke scored for London City at 84 minutes for a 4-1 final score.


 


Forward Shawn Brown led Mississauga Eagles FC with two goals in the game against Brampton City Utd at the Hershey Centre, he scored at 44 and 76 minutes, while Dave Simpson scored the home team’s third at the 66th minute mark.


 


Brampton’s lone goal was scored by Kevin Omokhua at 53 minutes when Brampton were playing with 10 men following the ejection of  goalkeeper Roy Blanche 27 minutes. He was shown the red card after bringing down an opposing forward to prevent an obvious goalscoring opportunity.


 


North York Astros took the lead at Esther Shiner Stadium in an attempt to win their first game of the campaign –  the goal was scored by midfielder Re Ishikawa at the 20th minute mark.


 


Galaxy forward Patryk Misik equalized for the visitors at 48 minutes, he beat Astros’ goalkeeper Enea Perego with a left foot drive from 17 yards and Dalibor Mitrovic scored the winner at the 85th minute mark when he drove the ball from 25 yards through several players.
