MONTREAL ACADEMY AND CAPITAL CITY TIE IN QUARTERFINAL SATURDAY

Montreal Impact Academy and Capital City FC played to a 1-1 tie in the first leg of a  quarterfinal playoff encounter at the Marie Victorin Stadium in Montreal Saturday afternoon.


 


Forward Will Beauge put the visitors in the lead at 35 minutes for a 1-0 score in favour of Capital City and Wandrille LeFevre beat Capital City goalkeeper Clint Irwin at 61 minutes for a 1-1 score that held to the final whistle.


 


The two teams meet again in the second leg of a home and away two-game series and the game is scheduled for Sunday, October 16 at 3 pm at Terry Fox Stadium in Ottawa.


 


This is the second game of the CSL playoffs, Toronto Croatia defeating Mississauga Eagles FC 4-0 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga Friday night.


 


There was one First Division game played Saturday, with Windsor Stars and TFC Academy settling for a 1-1 tie at Windsor Stadium.


 


Midfielder Sergio Camargo put TFC Academy in the lead late in the first half and Emilio Giorgi tied the game from the penalty spot at 75 minutes for the home side, a 1-1 final.


 


Three players were tossed out of the game by referee Archie Korbeil – red cards were shown to Camargo, defender Tyler Pasher of TFC Academy and Filip Rocca of Windsor Stars.
