SC Waterloo and York Region Shooters both registered wins in their season opener in the Canadian Soccer League Sunday.

York Region defender Andrae Rollins scored his side’s only goal at 9 minutes after taking a pass just outside of the box to drive the ball into the top corner of the net out of reach of Galaxy goalkeeper Melford James Jr.
It was a close contest through the remainder of the game, but the score held to the final whistle.
