It was a competitive first half at Club Roma in St. Catharines, but that all changed shortly after the break when TFC Academy took over to score three goals in four minutes to defeat St. Catharines Wolves 5-0, the only game in the CSL Wednesday night.
TFC’s Christian Campanella opened the scoring following a period when
Midfielder Sergio Camargo increased the lead for the visitors at 43 minutes, his ninth of the season and it was 2-0 at the interval.
Nicholas Lindsay made it 3-0 at 51 minutes, a strong drive from just outside the box to find the top left corner.
Campanella struck his second goal and the academy side’s fourth two minutes later and Camargo made it 5-0 almost immediately following the re-start for the midfielder’s 10th goal of the current campaign.
The win gave TFC Academy an improved 10-3-3 WLT record for 33 points while St. Catharines Wolves now have a 1-12-5 record for 8 points.
