Forward Wade Allen returned to the Windsor Stars line-up as a new signing earlier this week to find the net twice in a 3-1 victory over London City, the only game played in the CSL Friday.
Allen, who was a member of the border team in 2012, opened the scoring at 35 minutes when he collected a pass from Stephen Ademolu to catch the right side of London goalkeeper Vladimir Markotic who had little chance to make a save. It was 1-0 at the break.
London City equalized with a picture goal at 49 minutes from a free kick outside of the box, a well placed drive into the top corner by Marin Vucemilovic Grgic, his ninth of the season.
Allen struck his second at the 71st minute mark for a 2-1Windsor lead and with the home side forcing the play during which Ademolu and midfielder Alexander Rickett were prominent, Michael Pio found the net at 75 minutes for a 3-1 lead, and the score held up to the final whistle.
One other game scheduled for Friday night, Serbian White Eagles vs. Burlington SC, was postponed due to the playing surface at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke being under repair following damage caused by the flooding of the ground on July 8.
