Windsor Stars continued their good form with a 4-1 defeat of St. Catharines Wolves at Windsor Stadium, one of three games in the Canadian Soccer League Sunday. Serbian White Eagles defeated Brantford Galaxy by the same 4-1 score and York Region Shooters were held to a 1-1 tie by SC Waterloo.
Forward Michael Lapera opened the scoring with a goal for the border team at 30 minutes and Lepera scored a second to make it 2-0 seven minutes later, the score at half-time.
St. Catharines reduced the lead to 2-1 at the 55th minute mark with a goal by forward Carlo Arghittu who came on for the second half as a substitute, but Windsor extended their lead to 3-1, a goal by Keith Lough at the 60th minute mark. Arghittu missed a penalty for the visitors just two minutes earlier to scoring his goal, a save by Windsor ‘keeper Anthony Santilli.

Windsor are undefeated in seven straight games and have moved into a tie for fourth position in the standings with a 10-5-4 WLT record for 34 points, while St. Catharines Wolves have a 1-14-5 record for 8 points.
Richard West was again the centre of attention with a hat-trick that led Serbian White Eagles to their 4-1 victory over the Galaxy at Lions Park in Brantford, but it was Kirie Dimitrov who opened the scoring for Serbian White Eagles at just six minutes into the game when he drove a spectacular shot from 40 yards to put the ball just under the crossbar.
West made it 2-0 three minutes later when he headed in a cross from Zoran Rajovic, and Rojovic was instrumental in the third goal, also scored by West at the 20th minute mark, a 3-0 lead for Serbian Eagles at half-time.
Richard West again took a cross from Rajovic to find the net at the 53rd minute, a 4-0 lead in favour of the visitors, but the Galaxy scored a consolation goal at 67 minutes from a penalty awarded by referee Matt Arduni.
It’s a second hat-trick for Richard West after scoring three goals in the Serbian White Eagles 6-1 defeat of Niagara United on August 3, the Serbian Eagles forward now has 13 on the season.
Serbian White Eagles improve to 8-7-4 for 28 points in the standings, while Brantford Galaxy are still in a slump with a 8-10-1 record for 25 points.
York Region Shooters are third in the standings following the tie, they now have a 9-1-10 record for 37 points, while SC Waterloo are at 8-9-1 for 25 points.
