BRAZILIAN VETERANS TEAM OPENS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR AT TORONTO

If you are concerned playing competitive soccer ends in your 30s, take a look at a Brazilian team that’s been playing around the world with players of an age group 45-plus.
Anarqui Futebol & Amigos of Sao Paulo, Brazil’s most populous city and the world’s largest Portuguese-speaking community, plays in that city’s amateur championship and makes overseas tours to a number of countries, mostly in Europe and the African continent, a schedule they have been following for 11 years now.

This year, they have decided for the first time to take on teams in North America and will be playing against a CSL Selects side in the Toronto area this coming Tuesday, August 28.
The Brazilians will kickoff its tour with one game in Toronto, followed by games at Montreal and Quebec City, then Orlando, Florida.

The St. Joan of Arc Stadium at Maple, just north of Toronto, will stage the Toronto area match, kickoff time to be announced.

Clayton Nogueira is head coach of the Anarqui side, which has released its roster for the North American tour: André Rocha, José Amaro, Cesar Luiz, Francisco Coelho, Mauricio Correa, Dair Ferraz, Adahir Fogaça, Carlos Jordão, Luiz Moraes, Luis Amaro, Marcos Arnaldo, Marcos Guzzo, Nestor Barbosa, Antonio Neto, Ronaldo Paiva, Silvio Cesar, Sergio Terreri, Wilson Rodrigues.
