UKRAINE UNITED VAULT INTO SECOND SPOT WITH 4-0 VICTORY…..Hamilton defeat Serbian White Eagles 2-1

ukranian_unitedTwo goals in each half for a 4-0 victory over Milton SC vaulted  FC Ukraine United into second position in the Canadian Soccer League First Division standings, and in one other game Friday night Hamilton City defeated Serbian White Eagles 2-1.

Midfielder Oleh Kerchu opened the scoring for the visiting Ukraine United in the game against Milton at the Jean Vanier ground, the 1-0 lead coming at the 8th minute mark and Sergii Ivliev made it 2-0 twelve minutes later. It was 2-0 at the interval.

The goal was Ivliev’s 13th of the season and moved the Ukraine United  striker into the top position in the CSL First Division goalscoring chart, one goal ahead of Richard West of York Region Shooters with 12.

Novin Saraci made it 3-0 at the 63rd minute for Ukraine United and midfielder Kostiantyn Drevlov rounded the scoring 4-0 for the visitors at 73 minutes,  4-0 at the final whistle.

Ukraine United leaped from sixth to second in the table with an improved 8-6-5 WLT record for 29 points, while Milton remain in seventh position with a 4-10-3 record for 15 points.

Hamilton struck twice through Miroslav Cabrillo and Ali Mohammed in the second half to overcome a 1-0 deficit, a Serbian Eagles goal by Branislav Vukomanovic at the Cardinal Newman ground at Stoney Creek.

 

The 2-1 Hamilton win  leaves the Steeltown side one game to complete the CSL regular season, a game against FC Ukraine United on Sunday.

Hamilton City now has a 6-10-4 record for 22 points and are in sixth position in the table, while Serbian White Eagles have a 8-8-3 record for 27 points in fourth.
